WHO IS IT FOR? Year 5 students (9 to 10 years). This is an intensive course for students who have missed the start of the earlier courses but still wish to join later in the year.

Independent School & further Grammar School preparation

(September - December)

CONTENT:

The Course runs from September to January and covers English (Creative Writing and Comprehension skills), General Knowledge and Interview Technique, Verbal Activity (includes Verbal Reasoning and Verbal Ability) and Advanced Mathematics.

This course prepares children for the following examinations:

  • Independent school 11+ and Common Entrance Examinations sat in January 2016
  • Useful preparation for any grammar schools with second round English and/or Maths examinations in November/December/January and Bucks 12+/13+ late entry examinations

High Achiever Scholarship Programme

Children are nominated at Assessment by AE Tuition as suitable for this programme. Parents are then notified and given the opportunity to enter their child into the steps of the programme. Full details of the programme are made available at this juncture. 

The main purpose is to give high achieving year 3 and 4 children further opportunities for advancement and is designed to:-

AE017b• Provide opportunities for more challenging work that will further speed up progress and development

• Make it possible for children to take the most challenging courses at AE Tuition a year early e.g. Scholarship Programme - Independent and Further Grammar Schools Preparation Course

• Encourage and develop independent study skills and stimulate the habit of reading as a central plank of educational progress

• Prepare a child to pass the 11+ for a high performing grammar school and to succeed at the highest level in that environment

• Open up the possibility of applying for valuable and highly prized scholarships in the independent sector

Educational Assessment
CONTENT: A comprehensive series of assessment tests, followed by a consultation with parent and child by a teacher.

WHO IS IT FOR? All pupils who plan to join an AE Tuition course. The assessment stands alone as a valid and honest opinion of the child's present educational ability and future potential attainment.

LOCATION: AE Tuition Centre, Waterside Drive, Langley, SL3 6EZ.

COST: £50 - payable at time of booking

TIME: Appointments from 5.00 - 5.30pm

Assessments last 2+ hours. Parents usually leave children and return later for the consultation.
Starting times for assessments are between 5.00 - 5.30pm.
