Our courses prepare children for the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire
and all other London grammar 11+ examinations. We also provide
preparation for SATs examinations in Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3.

Summer 2009 Classes
ESSENTIAL MATHS - This course covers Books 1-3 by S. Curran (Number,
Decimals, Fractions, Measurement, Percentages, Ratios, Probability). Children
will also do 36 Maths Tests. This course is fundamental for the 11+ and
essential for 11+ success.
VR/NVR - This course covers Books 1-2 by S. Curran in
both VR and NVR and the children also do 12 VR tests and 6 NVR tests.
This course is fundamental for the 11+ and essential for 11+ success.
Children often come on the Essential Maths course and the Verbal and
Non-verbal Reasoning course for revision purposes. If they have not achieved
a high enough standard in the year long course by July, this is an excellent
way of boosting a child's performance.
ENGLISH - Creative Writing and Comprehension
- This course covers the grammar school requirements for those sitting
English tests (some schools require this). It is necessary for those who
are sitting for independent school places and will improve English SATs
scores.
| Advanced Maths - This course covers Book
6 (Algebra) in detail by S. Curran (Book 6 will be covered in
the 11+ course but large parts will be left out). Children will also
do advanced tests which are challenging. The course aims to push children
to level 6 in the National Curriculum. It is an excellent preparation
for those who will be sitting examinations for the Independent Schools
in January 2008. Many children need a fresh challenge by the end of
July and this 6 day course provides it over the long summer break.
Many of the highest acheiving children in the 11+ have done the Advanced
Maths course. |
