Assessments

Assessment includes the following:

Assessment Books
  1. Reading Level
  2. Spelling Level
  3. Non-verbal Reasoning
  4. Addition and Subtraction
  5. Number Bonds
  6. Tables
  7. Verbal Reasoning
  8. Maths
  9. Vocabulary (Word Power)
  10. Four Rules of Number

An overall percentage score is calculated and children are graded between 1 and 10 (10 being the highest). Equivalent National Curriculum levels can be included. The assessment is specifically designed to predict a child's likelihood of success in the 11+ examinations.

Placement on courses is not dependent on assessment scores: the decision to commence tuition is entirely at the parents' discretion. No assessment is fool-proof. It cannot test determination, preparedness for hard work and latent potential that may be unlocked within an individual during the process of tuition. An initial assessment is a useful guideline for parents and teacher as a measure of the child's current performance and future potential.

NOTE: After the assessment there is no obligation to enrol on any course.
