CONTENT: A comprehensive series of assessment tests, followed by a consultation with parent and child by a teacher.
WHO IS IT FOR? All pupils who plan to join an AE Tuition course. The assessment stands alone as a valid and honest opinion of the child's present position.
LOCATION: 2 Kingfisher Court, 281 Farnham Road, Slough, Berks SL2 1JF
COST: £45 - payable at time of booking
TIME: Appointments from 4.00 - 6.00pm
Assessments last 2+ hours. Parents usually leave children and return later for the consultation. Starting times for assessments are between 4.00 - 6.00pm. Please contact us for an appointment time: call us on 020 8867 2727 or click here to email us.
Assessment includes the following:
- Reading Level
- Spelling Level
- Non-verbal Reasoning
- Addition and Subtraction
- Number Bonds
- Tables
- Verbal Reasoning
- Maths
- Vocabulary (Word Power)
- Four Rules of Number
An overall percentage score is calculated and children are graded between 1 and 10 (10 being the highest). Equivalent National Curriculum levels can be included. The assessment is specifically designed to predict a child's likelihood of success in the 11+ examinations.
Placement on courses is not dependent on assessment scores: the decision to commence tuition is entirely at the parents' discretion. No assessment is fool-proof. It cannot test determination, preparedness for hard work and latent potential that may be unlocked within an individual during the process of tuition. An initial assessment is a useful guideline for parents and teacher as a measure of the child's current performance and future potential.
NOTE: After the assessment there is no obligation to enrol on any course. |
